Full Journal pdf1997-02-27 House Journal Page 0513 SB 56 The following, which was advanced to third reading from the February 26, 1997, calendar (page 491), was read the third time: SENATE BILL NO. 56 An Act relating to tourist oriented directional signs that are 90 inches in width and 18 inches in height, relating to penalties for violations related to outdoor advertising, and annulling a regulation of the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. Representative Davies moved and asked unanimous consent that SB56 be returned to second reading for the specific purpose of considering Amendment No. 9. There being no objection, it was so ordered. Amendment No. 9 was offered by Representative Davies: Page 1, line 1, following "are" (title amendment): Insert "up to" Page 1, line 2, following "and" (title amendment): Insert "up to" Page 3, line 14: Delete "must be" Insert "may not exceed" Page 3, line 15, following "width and": Insert "may not exceed" 1997-02-27 House Journal Page 0514 SB 56 Representative Davies moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 9 be adopted. Representative James objected. The question being: Shall Amendment No. 9 be adopted? The following members moved and asked unanimous consent that they be allowed to abstain from voting due to a possible conflict of interest: Representative Hodgins Representative James Objection was heard, and the members were required to vote. Representative Kubina gave notice of reconsideration of his vote on SB 56. Representative Porter moved and asked unanimous consent that the reconsideration of SB 56 be taken up on the same day. Objection was heard. Representative Porter moved and asked unanimous consent to withdraw the motion. There being no objection, it was so ordered.
